Malorie Mackey is a writer and host based in Los Angeles, CA. After having professionally written on the topics of travel, adventure, and tourism for close to a decade, Malorie found that she wanted more out of her adventures, so she began volunteering on scientific expeditions. Her adventures have brought her from working on archaeology in Battambang, Cambodia to working with South African penguins on Robben Island. While she loves volunteering on wildlife field research projects (with a specific love of penguins), Malorie’s true passions lie in the ‘why’, uncovering the most obscure and unusual of topics. Malorie currently hosts the podcast and show Weird World Adventures, which showcases the strangest and most unique places and traditions around the world, and she is currently beginning her journey to get her Masters in Anthropology with a specialization in Folklore, Mythology, and Occult Studies. Dr. Michael Maldonado is a physician subspecializing in neuroradiology with over sixteen years of experience in medicine. Having been published five times in academic medical literature, received over 21 honors and awards in his field, and presented in multiple national and international medical conferences, Michael is no stranger to delving deeply into a topic and conveying a specialized knowledge to a wider audience. Michael is an expert in advanced neuroimaging techniques such as Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS), and Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI). He is currently the Chief of Neuroradiology on the Board of Directors at Radiology Associates of Richmond, President of Richmond Radiology Society, and is a member of the Richmond Academy of Medicine, the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Medical Association, the Southeastern Neuroradiology Society, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American Society of Neuroradiology, and the Medical Society of Virginia. Michael’s expertise in the medical field and insatiable curiosity of the scientific world around him allowed him entry into the exclusive Explorers Club, a centuries-old club dedicated to the advancement of field exploration and scientific inquiry. He has had a lifelong interest in the historical intersections of mythology and scientific discovery. Along this vein of interest, he had the opportunity to be the overseeing physician on a project that utilized computed tomographic (CT) imaging of an ancient Egyptian mummy of a bird in concert with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. This foray in melding modern imaging techniques with archaeological research piqued a personal interest in exploring the use of current imaging technologies to gain insight into other ancient artifacts. It also led him to conceptualize the idea for his book, "Medicine and Mythology: A Chronicle of Gods and Man." Michael is continuing to further his expertise in the realms of cultural exploration as the producer of the unique anthropological adventure show Weird World Adventures and the co-host of the proposed History Channel Show Anomaly.
